Hello!

Crazy how time flies … I have been taking care of sick and injured Pacific NW pets since 1993. In 1991 I graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine & then I managed to complete an internship at Purdue University (“NOT” the easiest year of my life!!). My formative years were spent include one year in day practice and then it became obvious that ER was sooooooooooooooo much more fun! I worked in a few busy 24 hour practices and then a couple ER clinics including dear Dove Lewis in Portland, Oregon. Eventually I purchased an emergency clinic with two co-workers in Tacoma, Washington and we worked hard to transform the clinic into a big happening ER / Specialty center.

I consider myself a lifelong learner, so near the end of those ownership years, I went back to school and completed a masters in business administration at Pacific Lutheran University in 2012 – – – kind of putting the horse after the cart but I LOVED being back in school! After completing the MBA, I worked in industry with Trupanion Pet Insurance and then the pharmaceutical companies Zoetis and lastly Dechra.

As we all know Covid impacted all of us and for me, it made my job with Dechra almost unbearable …. I was stuck in my home office and I was not able to do in-person teaching about METHADONE, ZYCORTAL, VETORYL and all things skin and otitis externa. I left Dechra and have now spent a couple years doing relief work and helping a colleague with her at-home euthanasia business. But it’s time for real job again . . . so here I am. I will be working full time at our Bellingham location and part time at our Canada location as well.

In my free time I love to stay active by playing hockey, golfing competitively, running, gardening, cooking, travelling, and playing the stock market. My two brown dogs, Ferguson and Baxter and cats Socksie, Fluffy and Tiny are always excited to hear my stories about my busy days.
