BIO

Dr. Kate Westcott is a staff emergency doctor at Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialty Hospital at our emergency animal hospital in Bellingham.

Dr. Westcott grew up in Michigan, but during undergrad, veterinary school, and internship and partial residency she was able to live in Chicago, Savannah, DC, and Boston. She moved to Seattle in 2013 after completing a year of a critical care residency to work in a busy specialty and emergency/critical care hospital. After 7 years at the Veterinary Specialty Center of Seattle as an emergency and critical care veterinarian, she made the move up to Bellingham to be closer to the mountains and to join the team at BBVSH.

Dr. Westcott has a great passion for the variety and intensity of emergency and critical care cases. Helping clients thru the difficult processes of understanding disease and trauma in their pets, providing accessible medical information and guiding decision-making with compassion is of the utmost importance to Dr. Westcott.

When not in the hospital Dr. Westcott loves to be in nature. You can find her hiking, climbing, backpacking, and kayaking the many regions of the North Cascades and British Columbia. She lives outside Bellingham with her chocolate Labrador Wyatt, who also loves to go on outdoor adventures.
